Rescued Roswell dog mauls rescuer in Vaughn incident
Albuquerque attorney Elizabeth Hance says a dog rescued from Roswell's pound attacked her en route to her home Friday night. The dog Max, later labeled Daily Record Pet of the Week, was said to have seemed friendly at first.

Hobbs Man Guilty of Kidnapping and Assault
Jerardo Castillo of Hobbs was found guilty on September 4 in Lea County District Court of kidnapping aggravated battery against a household member aggravated assault and false imprisonment. Investigators say he held a woman against her will for several days in a Hobbs trailer in July 2012 and severely beat her with a baton shower curtain rod iron and a butane torch. The victim reported the attack after returning to Albuquerque.
