TTA to Move Next Wednesday To Air Center Roswell

Leon Burgess, manager of Trans- Texas Airlines Roswell office, announced TTA will be in full operation at the Roswell Industrial Air Center next Thursday after moving from the Municipal Airport. The airline runs five weekday flights, three Saturday flights, and four Sunday flights on Convair 600s.

Neighborhood Assn Will Meet Tonight

The Chaves County Neighborhood Association plans a meeting at 8 o'clock tonight at the Neighborhood Center, 300 E. Albuquerque. David Lee, director of the city preschool program, will speak. The public is invited to attend.

County to Cooperate On WAFB Annexation

Chaves County commissioners voiced verbal approval for Roswell to pursue annexation of the former Walker Air Force Base. City Manager Hoyt McMinn outlined road right of way issues along Air Base Road and noted state rules on contiguous-property annexation. The meeting also covered the county budget for 1967-68 and tax assessment rate discussions, with officials set to reconvene in two weeks to decide the assessment percentage.

Markets Thin Advance Is Maintained

The New York stock market held a slim gain in steady late trading with volume at 6.83 million shares for the first four hours. Ford slipped about a point amid reports the strike may extend, while General Motors dipped slightly and Chrysler and American Motors held near unchanged. Major movers included Curtiss-Wright, Occidental Petroleum, Stokeley Van Camp, Electronic Associates, Allis-Chalmers, General Electric, Xerox, Du Pont, Boeing, and a blue chip strength showing in GE with gains around two points.

Headstart Funds Sought for Three Chaves County Districts

A $501 218 federal Headstart funding application to support a year round program in Roswell City Schools Chaves County Independent Schools and Lake Arthur was preliminarily approved by the Chaves County Community Action Program steering committee. The plan allocates 70427 for county schools 415317 for Roswell and 15473 for Lake Arthur. CAP also hired John Arthur Ross a retired Air Force major as field representative at 440 monthly salary.

Two Men Held In El Paso Burglary Case

Edward Roy Schneider and Samuel A Miller both of Butte Montana were in custody in El Paso Texas on burglary and larceny charges after a Thursday break in at Peggies Arts Crafts 1400 West Second. Some stolen coins were recovered from them and entry was gained by breaking the front door glass.
