Republicans Win Big at Territorial Convention

Special to the Record Albuquerque New Mexico September 7 Republicans will control the territorial convention with 69 delegates to 31 for Democrats. Republicans Lead in New Mexico Constitutional Delegates

From Santa Fe and Albuquerque reports activists note Republicans hold 62 of 100 delegates with 9 undecided and Democrats 29. Rethinking a prohibition plank and initiative and referendum appears likely, though some Republicans may back a modified form or local option. Further returns reinforce a Republican majority but signal possible support for I R measures in the new constitution.
