California Woman Dies in 66 Crash

A California woman, Ethel L. Brown, 61, of Monte Vista, died when the car she rode in plunged down an embankment on U S 66 near Santa Rosa and overturned several times. Driver William A. Gallaher, 32, Mountain View, and another passenger were uninjured. The death raises the year’s highway toll to 298, up from 255 a year earlier.

Boys skip school to live in bayou wilderness

In Houston, seven year old Cornelius Bilamowicz and four year old Raymond left home in pajamas to camp out near Hunting Bayou to avoid the classroom.
