The Roswell Fine Arts League float The Rainbow As Promised New Meanings won the Sweepstakes Award among about 100 entries in the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Parade drawing 10 000 spectators. Awards went to several groups including the Spering River Park and Zoo Fair Board Award and the Roswell Police Explorers Post 911.
Chaves County Planning and Zoning Board approves an amendment to regulations to allow a vehicle dealership and farm supply use within the county. Despite lengthy discussion, two of four members present vote in favor along with the chair and others. The measure aligns with proposed subdivision rules affecting Roswell Dexter Hagerman and surrounding municipalities.
