NMMI cadet convicted in second campus assault within year
Molia Tago 18 of American Samoa pleaded no contest to a petty misdemeanor battery in Roswell for a Sept. 9 locker room assault on a fellow cadet at NMMI Cahoon Armory. He faces up to six months in jail and a $500 fine at sentencing Nov. 13. victim’s family withdrew enrollment citing safety fears.

Bryan Ramos a 23 year old former Chaves County Detention Center officer from Roswell awaits sentencing after his conviction for first degree kidnapping. He was the driver of a car on July 5 2013 carrying four men who forced a 21 year old victim at gunpoint to get into the vehicle.

Man Arrested in Crash That Killed Local Teacher
Victor M. Torres 34 was arrested by New Mexico State Police on Wednesday charged with one count of homicide by vehicle in a three vehicle crash that killed Mesa Middle School teacher Lori Johnson 55 on East Second Street near the city. Alcohol was involved and Torres was treated at University Medical Center in Lubbock Texas in a medically induced coma before the hospital release.
