Octogenarian craftsman cherishes long life in Roswell
The Roswell resident born in Frederick Oklahoma, moved from Whiteface Texas in 1934 seeking better pasture after the Dust Bowl. A long career as a carpenter at Walker AFB and New Mexico Military Institute, he remains active making shelves and repairing cabinets. He jokes about health, enjoys fishing trips, and credits a simple philosophy of eating well, sleeping, avoiding trouble, and avoiding entanglements for longevity. He is widowed, with children Bruce, Darlene, and Kenneth, and attends Country Club Road Church of Christ.
