Saint-Sinner Brown surrenders after kidnapping spree
Willard Brown, 23, a fugitive who held seven people hostage across Montana and Idaho, surrendered after his mother in New York convinced him to give up. He had escaped Deer Lodge prison Saturday in a state car and roamed, robbing two Canadians and raping a woman during a two state manhunt before surrendering at a ranch near Lava Hot Springs.

Four people were hurt in three car accidents near Roswell over the weekend. Loren Ragland 28 suffered head cuts and was taken to Walker AFB hospital after a 12 05 a m collision on New Mexico Road 13 near city limits. Ragland’s Plymouth collided with LeRoy Schilling 36 in a Packard that had stopped to pull onto SR 13. A second crash sent Fred Zuffing home after his 1956 Cadillac struck a light pole at Summit and Main. A third crash at Second and Union injured Patricia and Delores Fish as a Chevrolet collided with a Mercury and a Ford. Damages ranged from 600 to 900 dollars. investigators cited limited visibility and vehicles pulled by wreckers.
