Moscow delegates plan independent government while Roswell club eyes enforcing a 1903 law amid unrest. Andrews suit seeks 55000 amid bank fraud probe and cash-short concerns.
The article reports the sudden death of Mexia Johnson a student at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico from apoplexy at age 18. It notes he was healthy and tall with a local network of friends and faculty. Funeral details include shipment of the body to Clarendon Texas and a mourning badge for thirty days. Chicago October 28 The Tribune reports the federal government is probing efforts by railroad interests to pack the Interstate Commerce Law Convention held Thursday and Friday. Dr E D Durand special examiner with the Bureau of Corporations is leading the inquiry. Evidence suggests seceder delegates attempting to disrupt the regular meeting were railroad employed and many had expenses paid by railroads including passes. Some delegates identified as railroad lawyers.
The Commercial Club begins efforts to enforce the territorial law on tree spraying. A later section outlines the law and how enforcement will proceed, indicating a statewide move to regulate spraying practices.

Two year old Robert Schofield Cass died at five this morning at his parents home three miles from town on West Second Street. Funeral is set for tomorrow at two o'clock from the home, Rev. E Lukens conducting, burial in the South Side cemetery. Carlos Delasso, in Telluride, Colo, shot and killed his four month old baby, wounded his wife, and then shot himself. He is expected to die. jealousy is alleged as the motive.
San Francisco reported Jack O'Brien defeated A Kaufman by knockout in the seventeenth round last night. PD. E. Dozer, once of Portales, has relocated to Roswell and will operate his immigration business from there.
