Hobbs N M Oct 27 AP Funeral services were held at Monument N M for L S Evans 83 a pioneer rancher who was burned to death Tuesday night when his home caught fire. The exact cause not determined but flames were believed to have spread from a stove burning crude oil. The blaze spread rapidly and the aged rancher perished before aid could reach him. His widow and two sons live on ranches nearby and survive.
