Deer Hunter Found Dead in Hillsboro Peak
W. W. Winn a 55 year old Tucumcari deer hunter was found dead on the northwest slope of Hillsboro Peak in Kingston New Mexico with physicians citing a heart attack. Guide Charles Anderson located the body after Winn failed to return to camp as the opening of the season began. Winn’s rifle lay nearby and his hand was over his heart as rescuers prepared to bring the body to town. Funeral plans were not set.

Freezing in Most Parts of N M Last Night
Frost spread across nearly all of New Mexico with the coldest readings of the season. Artesia reported the first killing frost at 27 above, Las Cruces 29 above, and Oso Ridge 20 above. snow fell near Hope while Roswell and other regions posted frosty conditions. Milk sickness death shocks Artesia and husband ill
In Artesia New Mexico Mrs J E Bowman died last night likely from milk sickness or alkali poison. Her husband is seriously ill but expected to recover. The couple lived north of Artesia and fell ill this week after a period of tracing difficulties. Doctors say milk sickness results from drinking milk from cows that ate certain weeds.

Vernon O. Polle executive secretary of the state teachers association arrived in Roswell this morning and opened headquarters for the state teachers meeting to be held Wednesday to Saturday next week. Headquarters are in the Nickson Hotel building and will move to the Junior High School building next Wednesday morning.
