Shriners Parade Battles Cold On Roswell Main Street
Shriners clubs from across the state paraded through Roswell despite an unseasonably cold 45 degree morning drawing a crowd near 200 along Main Street from the Roswell Convention Center to Alameda Street. Spectators watched fire trucks bands and go-cart brigades as Bill Coffey noted the chill kept him from a belly dancing routine. The Roswell unit Little Hookers rode go-carts and fire trucks while others parked and watched from cars or windows. The Shriners operate 22 hospitals offering free medical treatment and transportation for eligible children and families.
