General Election Proclamation in Chaves County New Mexico
The Chaves County Commissioners announce a general election for November 2, 1920. Voters will select presidential electors, congressmen, governor and other state and county offices. A 4 percent bond issue of 2 million dollars for state highway construction is on the ballot, financed by a tax levy. JOHN T. STONE, Chairman.

Roswell Wins State Federation Convention Host 1943
The State Federation of Woman's Clubs chose Roswell to host its next convention after a hot contested vote at Tucumcari. Santa Fe withdrew, but a Roswell Chamber of Commerce telegram swayed delegates twenty to sixteen in Roswell's favor. Roswell plans a flawless event to impress visiting delegates next year. In Syracuse on October 18 Gov Cox denounced isolationism and urged a robust League of Nations policy to aid a progressive government ensuring opportunity for every poor boy.
