Roswell announces the Annual Sandhill Crane Hunt on November 4 drawing top writers from national magazines. Goddard High School sophomore Koni Carpenter, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jack G Carpenter, won the state poster contest with a one legged veteran holding crutches aloft under the Hire a Veteran theme. She earned a 75 dollar local prize and a 100 dollar state prize. Scott Spangler placed third locally. about 25 Goddard students entered. judge Peter Hurd evaluated state results on Oct 6.
