Buckingham Quebec October 8 The McLaren Lumber Co tried to end a month long strike. Strikers and detectives clashed through the day injuring thirteen people and killing two strikers and a detective by mid afternoon.
The Oman's Club holds its first regular meeting tomorrow Wednesday at 2 30 PM in the Carnegie Library. Miss Holt leads the program on Ancient France. Departments will be organized and other business transacted. Members are urged to attend.
The Republican County Central Committee met secretly last night in an obscure venue under cover of darkness. RB. A. Cahoon was unaware of the proceedings until after they concluded. The meeting aimed to endorse D. L. Geyer.
Rams for sale by Arcey Bros will travel to Roswell around October 12 with one or two loads of acclimated French Moreno yearlings. Priced at $1250 per ram. Gas company begins laying mains from the gas works to the alley east of Missouri avenue. Mains extend west to Pennsylva nia avenue then south to Eighth street and west to the alley. All machinery except pumps has arrived and gas is expected by November first. Crude oil will come from Chanute Kansas fields until local supply sufficient.

Paris reports the sultan's illness stemmed from a gunshot wound to the abdomen by a Kurdish woman jealousy over his Circassian favorite.
