Burglar Nabbed Mere's Given Life Sentence
Lester F. Grant was arrested Monday night by the sheriff's department and sentenced to life imprisonment by Judge James B. McGhee under New Mexico habitual criminal law. He pled guilty to stealing a medicine cabinet from Big Jo Lumber Co and to three prior felonies: grand larceny in Arkansas, burglary in Texas, and grand larceny in Texas. Grant was caught climbing the Big Jo fence. Francisco Torrez pled guilty to rape and was sentenced to 5 to 7 years in the penitentiary.

Hearing Set For Suit Against Roswell School Board

First Lt Henry S Thomas flight surgeon from Albuquerque home base said Lt W W Crim of Pendleton will be sent to Henderson Texas and Pvt L T Morfeld of Springerville will go to Albuquerque for a funeral. The others Lt A T King Lt R H Conway Lt D Gladney Boyd Corp L E Gillem Jr and Capt Howard Moody are awaiting word from relatives. The crash was investigated at the scene and ten miles from the wreck.
