Pleasantly Perfect wins Goodwood in bid for BC Classic
Pleasantly Perfect captured the $500000 Goodwood Breeders Cup Handicap at Santa Anita by 3 lengths, boosting his case for a BC Classic invite from trainer Richard Mandella as Composure won the Oak Leaf Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Jockey Alex Solis aboard Pleasantly Perfect praised the horse's late charge. Momentum and Reba's Gold also ran strong, with notes of potential BC Classic implications. Composure, ridden by Mike Smith, posted a 1 1/16 mile Oak Leaf victory as Smith grew up in nearby Dexter New Mexico, preparing for a BC Juvenile Fillies start.
