Sniper ammunition linked to Virginia shooting case
Tests by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms show the same round used in a Fredericksburg VA shooting matches ammunition used in the Washington DC area sniper spree. Five victims in the D C suburbs were hit over a 16 hour period, with two additional Maryland shootings under review. No arrests yet, one man questioned but not charged. The Virginia victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The Roswell Behavioral Health Commission hosted a Friday luncheon honoring former Roswell Police Chief Richard Campbell who led the department for almost six years before resigning and moving toward Albuquerque. Roswell Mayor Bill Owen praised Campbell’s push for less lethal force and his role in creating the commission and the Crisis Intervention Team with CIT volunteers.

Chesser's Heifer Tops Auction At ENMSF Junior Sale
Haley Chesser of Dexter, a 16 year old Dexter High School sophomore, sold a dairy heifer for 6,300 dollars to total a record ENMSF junior livestock sale with 108 lots bringing in 264096 dollars. Central Valley Electric and Diamond X Minerals placed the winning bid.

Shooting suspects await trial in New Mexico case
One suspect, Ralph Pichardo, released on a 75000 appearance bond, and Raddulfo Lucero chose to serve time until the preliminary hearing. They are charged with firing multiple rounds at a residence on South Aspen Avenue, damaging a pickup and a Chevy Camaro. A material witness could not be produced, delaying the case. The judge offered to release them until the next hearing. Pichardo’s attorney accepted.
