Furrs workers speak out at bankruptcy court hearing
In Albuquerque, former Furrs employees told Judge James Starzynski how loss of their jobs disrupted their lives. About 50 former workers voiced concerns as a public hearing opened on the Chapter 11 case. The judge approved a $600,000 operating budget for October with $75,000 in retention bonuses for 20 corporate staff. He noted a $30,000 bonus for former president Tom Dahlen and $750,000 for board leaders George Golleher and Greg Mays for their roles in the case. A final budget hearing is set for Oct. 16.
