Roswell School Board backs Fresquez pay raise amid contract vote
Roswell Independent School District members approved an 8 percent raise for Superintendent Amarante Fresquez through the remainder of his contract, rejecting a two year extension. Jim Bignell and Rusty Ryan cited uncertainty and lead time concerns while Otto Bachus and Juan Oropesa favored a two year extension. The vote leaves Fresquez in a position seen as potentially lame duck and underlines upcoming school closings and bond decisions.
