Roswell Man Arrested After Prolonged Shootout Spree
New Mexico State Police recovered weapon casings marijuana drug paraphernalia ammunition and thousands of dollars in cash from Jose Diaz of Roswell after a Sept 24 shootout that began with a welfare check. Diaz faced federal charges with state counts pending following a nearly three hour standoff and a pursuit ending near Old Dexter Highway. Police officers from Roswell and Chaves County jointly exchanged gunfire during the incident.
