A local veterinarian reports five dog poisoning cases by strychnine within city limits. Three dogs died two survive with most cases traced to a bounded area near McGaffey Hobbs Adams and Pennsylvania Aves. One case linked to meat. others undetermined. Authorities urge caution for children and pets.
A man wearing a false beard robbed a Bank of New Mexico branch on North 4th Street in Albuquerque, taking more than 9500 dollars. He told employees he had a pistol in his pocket and fled with an accomplice waiting outside in a car.
FBI informer testifies the Ku Klux Klan pursued white supremacy by any means. The case links to the slaying of Viola Liuzzo during the Selma to Montgomery march as three Klansmen face federal conspiracy charges. A bank robbery in Albuquerque is also noted with suspect description and getaway car.

A metal box found in another cave held the land title a $20 000 bank balance a will and papers. Sheriff estimated land value at $40 000. His only living relative Daisy Fuller Oklahoma City said he left home at 14 to ride bronc.
A federal grand jury in New Orleans indicted 16 year old Thomas Robinson of Brownsville Texas on piracy and intimidation charges for a Nov 17 hijack attempt of a National Airlines jet over the Gulf of Mexico. He fired at least six shots, officials said, and two space industry leaders helped subdue him. The case was urged to be tried as an adult with potential life or death penalties.
Roswell man Bobby Cleveland Powell 26 faces a January 17 jury trial in Alamogordo on a Sept 2 rape after breaking into a Roswell woman’s home. Powell filed disqualification motions against five judges and several defense motions were heard today.
A 20 man crew pours first floor wall sections on the Roswell Federal Building site at Fifth and Richardson as work continues on the 1.4 million project now about 12 to 15 percent done. Demolition began in July to clear six homes, with one old structure left as a contractor’s office.

The Roswell Board of Education awarded a 10000 dollar contract to Malott and Peterson Grundy of El Paso for Goddard High School. The bid covers 21800 square foot exposed cement slab for tennis and basketball plus fence work. The slab has hairline cracks noted by local architect Frank Standhardt.
Cleveland Browns fullback Jim Brown pleaded innocent to paternity charges filed by an 18 year old woman who had earlier accused him of hitting her. The case centers on the paternity claim and Brown's denial of the allegations.
