Ice Plant Expansion Promises Cheaper Ice for Roswell

A Roswell area report details two ice plants under construction. George F. Blashek and sons prepare a new facility near the courthouse to produce up to eight tons daily, with power from canal water and an artesian well. The plan foresees direct-to-consumer sales at 40 to 45 cents per hundred pounds, avoiding dealers.

Five Foot Gusher Found on J M Miller Farm East of Roswell

A well drilled by Carper and Sons on J M Millers farm eight miles east of Roswell produced a five foot flow of water at a depth of 510 feet. The casing measures six and five eighths inches in diameter and the flow rises five feet above the casing. The find follows recent completion of a fine well for Miller by the same firm on his farm.

Quiet at Mitylene Occupation Without Demonstration

Mitylene Nov 29 all was quiet today after the landing of the international contingent and occupation of the custom house and postal building was carried out without a Turkish protest. Five hundred of the six hundred men landed were subsequently withdrawn, leaving the populace at peace.
