Judge G A Richardson receives letters praising the Pecos Valley Exhibit Car from Valley Falls Kansas and Amporia Kansas officials. A court verdict grants W W Anderson full $1000 against John Mathewson for a sheep deal. The Elks report net funds, clear the lodge indebtedness, and plan a special meeting for initiation.
News from Guatemala reports that the coastal town of Tatupec near Tehauntepec was inundated as a hurricane struck. With a 5000 population, buildings washed away and residents taken to trees, at least fifty people are believed drowned though totals remain uncertain.
People can obtain fine fresh candies in fancy boxes and baskets from Kipling's Candy Store. They offer to prepare any preferred candy box and will handle sending to a specified address upon request.
A notice from R F Cruse correcting a previous claim, stating he has not sold all his trees and still has thousands to sell. He warns buyers not to be misled by transient tree peddlers and promises bearing trees in four years via a new cheap planting method for thousands of customers.
A Lighthouse Hotel blaze in St Louis early today killed four men and left about 25 injured. About 500 men slept inside. many leapt from upper floors as life lines and nets failed to save all. The fire caused by a closet draft swept through the second and third stories before firemen arrived. Two injured died later, and several others were reported fatally hurt. Oscar F. Davis and George D. Ross identified among the dead.
The Banks of Roswell will open at 9:00 a m and close at 3:00 p m after January 1 1907 except Saturdays when they close at noon to grant employees a half holiday. A fireman Pietro Moiaera was killed and 12 others injured in a mutiny aboard the Mallory steamer San Jacinto arriving in New York. Emmannuel Conchero was arrested for the murder after a fight over passing coal escalated in the stokenole and was quelled when Captain Ev ans and officers drew revolvers.
Senators elected by popular vote dissolved the republic and proclaimed Dio nysius king in a historic city. The production at Pilant's Hall on Monday December 3rd promises a dramatic portrayal of a ancient world event amid social notes from Roswell including a Thanksgiving social and a dance at Lake Arthur with local families attending.

Federal grand jury in St Louis accuses Waters-Pierce Oil Co of accepting rebates and discriminating in local freight rates on oil shipments. Indictments total seventy two counts alleging violations of interstate commerce law and the Elkins act. Charges include lower rates on Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific routes from St Louis to Alexandria Louisiana compared with eleven other points.
Rose DeLuna Handfield, 40, arrested in New York for threatening to kill John D. Rockefeller unless paid one million dollars. She allegedly forced entry at Rockefeller's secretary, produced a counterfeit check, and carried a revolver. Handfield sent to Bellevue Hospital for mental observation.

Teachers meet at First M E church South postponed to Dec 5 due to muddy weather. visitors from San Francisco and Los Angeles attend the celebration and dedicating the Salvation Army Citadel on Thanksgiving night.
Oyster Bay New York November 28 a forest fire swept Copper Bluff threatening President Roosevelts Sagamore Hill summer residence. Separately William B Pettit a Bureau of Labor official arrived to investigate a long past strike at the Daily Record alleging a wage dispute and shutdown.
G W Prichard former New Mexico attorney general arrives from White Oaks to attend court representing R E Lund in a suit against Eagle Mining and Improvement Company. He predicts Democrats will not again nearly win the Territory and accuses Republicans of old tricks.

Walter Miller found Jose Leon Baca a 41 year old sheep herder half a mile southeast of Al Garretts camp, frozen to death after a storm. Remains brought to Roswell and funeral held at South Main with Father Herbert presiding. Survived by wife five children brother Sylvester and sister Felicita with many relatives in the county.
Roswell Elks plan a series of entertainments during the Panhandle Cattle Raisers Association annual meeting in Roswell next April. Local lodge agreed to provide activities for visiting cattlemen, promising ample recreation for guests. A carnival committee report was read and found disappointing.
