Chicago authorities plan to station plainclothes officers including several Black officers to protect Senator Tillman at tonight's lecture. Racial tensions rise as lawyers seek an injunction to block the speech, with experts warning such action could worsen communal strife.
In Kansas City a man who confessed to robbing an Alton Burlington train near Glasgow, Missouri, on Sunday night is identified by prison records as Claude Randall and Claude Ramsey, a deserter released from Ft. Leavenworth November 3. The two names and similar descriptions suggest they are the same man, with Rumsey released four days before the Glasgow robbery.
The Commercial Club of Albuquerque and prominent citizens push an 118 mile auto route from Albuquerque to Torrance to connect with the Roswell line. Mayor James W. Stockard of Roswell is urged to promote the plan, with four small towns along the route and one high canyon bridge. Cost projected at 4600 dollars for the road once built and maintained.

New York reports after a month long inquiry by doctors that the Wait family, including merchant William F. Pittsburg November 27 City Councilman W A Martin was arrested at his home on bribery charges tied to the Tube City Railroad franchise. He is jailed at central police station along with C S Cameron president of Tube City Railroad Company. Bail is expected soon and trial likely Saturday.
In New York on November 27 Judge Hough fined the American Sugar Refining Company $118,000 in U.S. Circuit Court for accepting rebates from the New York Central, marking a major antitrust- era monetary penalty involving a large industry player.
Fire aboard the torpedo school ship Algecira at Toulon burned out and caused near total destruction of the wooden battleship built in 1858. The blaze origin is unknown. Three sailors died, six were injured, and eight firemen were hurt to varying degrees.
Special to The Daily Record from Santa Fe New Mexico November 27 reports the official canvass of the territorial vote for delegate to congress and joint statehood. Republican W H Andrews receives 22 915 votes while Democrat Larrazolo has 22 649, a majority of 266 for Andrews.
The wool market is firm and under sellers control. The American Wool Co has taken about a million pounds of quarter blood fleeces with other buyers totaling around a million and a half. Half and three-eighths Territory and fleece wools are scarce.
Cincinnati reports the Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern Railroad has granted its switchmen a four cent per hour wage increase. The move raises pay for tract workers and follows recent labor negotiations in Cincinnati dated November 27.
An automobile delivered a large batch of mail at 7 o'clock last night from Torrance. W. W. Scott drove the car and left Sunday morning with a load destined for the other terminal. The car was the second of its kind.
