Los Angeles November 17 AP Tommy Thomas a veteran Southern California pilot and all passengers died when their biplane crashed into a hillside near the San Fernando Valley while flying from Union Air Terminal to Tehachapi foothills. Thomas 28, president of Pacific Airmotive Corp, was a noted aviation figure. Roy W. Kidd the mechanic and F. M. Mathews Dorothy Benham a telephone operator were identified among the dead. The craft struck a spillway beside a municipal aqueduct in fog and low clouds, with wreckage scattered and one body hurled 350 feet from the site. A truck driver A Tetro witnessed the blast and notified authorities. The plane apparently failed to find a landing place before crashing.
