Roswell Hosts New Mexico Teachers Convention

Dick Gomez and Tomas Yturralde, ages 18 and 19, are brought back to Roswell after being arrested in San Antonio for allegedly stealing a 1930 Ford coupe owned by Micayala Luzero. Santa Fe AP dispatch reports the state highway commission will award contracts for four federal aid highway works on about 31 miles of grading and eight miles of paving from Isleta to Los Lunas. Projects include Eddy county grading near Malaga, Roswell to Hondo on US 70, Espanola to Abiquiu on NM 2, and Isleta to Los Lunas paving on US 85.

Jam Dow Found Dead North of Carlsbad

Cam Dow, uncle of former gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Dow and Hi Dow of Roswell, was found dead twelve miles north of Carlsbad near a cement mill where he served as watchman. Officials say he likely died six to seven days earlier and the death is attributed to natural causes.
