War Dead Honored by Roswell Area Veterans Groups
Roswell area veterans groups held Memorial Day services at local cemeteries. Sunshine State Chapter 4 Disabled American Veterans and Post 28 American Legion planned an 11 a.m. service at South Park Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Moynahan as speaker. Curtis-Montgomery Post 2575 VFW sponsored a 10 a.m. service at Memory Lawn Memorial Park with John Anderson, WWII Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, delivering the keynote. Anderson warned against reducing U S military presence and cited Korea and Panama as areas needing American force.
