City Manager Larry Fry announced his resignation at a Roswell City Council meeting focused on a 2015 preliminary budget. Fry will stay on during the transition or until January 1 if he finds another position. The council heard Police Chief Philip Smith request hiring three additional school resource officers.
The AP reports that VA hospitals and clinics used fake appointments, sly unofficial logs, and undisclosed bookings to mask delay in veterans’ care. A 2010 memo by William Schoenhard described schemes to appear within 30 days, including fake bookings, late cancellations, and logging dates only when near the target, with guidance to stop and detect such practices.
A 31 year old man, Brandon Warford, was arrested during Roswell High School graduation for possession by a felon unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon and related charges. Roswell Police Department filed the case details.
CDCC Administrator Clay Corn told the Roswell Kiwanis Club that education is the main factor in steering juveniles away from incarceration. He cited drugs as the top cause of adult incarceration locally and said most juveniles are school drop-outs.
