Geology pioneer at NMSU graduates amid gender barriers
Miss Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan S. Williams, 434 Townsend Terrace, will be the first NMSU student to major in geology and graduate May 31. She plans outdoor fieldwork with the Park Service at Petrified Forest, Arizona, and will pursue a master's degree under a National Science Foundation trainee program at the University of Arizona starting in September.

Cadet Harrison Lobdell HI son of Air Force Col and Mrs Harrison Lobdell Jr will graduate from the U S Military Academy at West Point on June 4 receiving a bachelor of science degree. Allan E. Smith a Seattle realtor bought a 2000 pound hippo named Gertrude from Denver. Gertrude joined llamas and Scottish longhorn cattle on Smith's Plain Washington ranch where she baths in a water-filled pit and enjoys affections by mouth rubs. Smith plans to add kangaroos for companionship during winter.

Life Saving Courses Offered By Red Cross At NMMI Pool
