Live Stock and Wool Market Reports from Kansas City and St Louis

Kansas City market shows cattle receipts around 8000 with prices up to ten cents higher. Southern and western cattle mixed by class, with steers heifers cows and bulls ranging from about 3.00 to 5.50. Sheep and muttons steady with lambs up to 8.40. St Louis wool market steady with territory and western medium grades at 23 to 27, fine medium 19 to 21, fine 14 to 15.

The Albuquerque baseball team arrived this afternoon on three antos and will play today Tuesday and Wednesday at 2 29 PM with the Military Institute. They also start games with the town team Thursday and Friday. The last antos arrival delayed today’s opening. tomorrow’s game will start on time. Mayor Schmitz Appears for Trial in Extortion Charges

San Francisco on May 20 Mayor Eugene Schmitz faced five grand jury counts of extortion from French restaurant keepers. The hearing was delayed a day for counter affidavits on motions for a change of judge. The state will not seek custody. Schmitz remains free on bonds totaling 50 000. Indictments expected within days as graft investigation nears completion.

A large crowd attended a Sunday afternoon drill at the Military Institute on North Hill to see the cadet band concert escort of colors parade and drill. The band formed under Captain Jack Fletcher and the battalion performed with interest, leaving Roswell residents regretting the absence of future Sunday drills for the next three months.
