Eisenhower Won't Relax Secrecy Order On McCarthy Hearings

President Eisenhower said he does not intend to relax or rescind the secrecy order that suspended the McCarthy Army hearings. He urged resumption of the hearings to allow all facts to come out, insisting the Army acted independently of the White House. He noted Army Counselor John G. Adams and Sherman Adams discussed the Army's issues with McCarthy and clarified the purpose of the order was to keep the televised hearings on track.

Boy Scout Headquarters Wrecked in Cahoon Park Flood

Expected French Wounded From Dien Bien Phu in Hanoi

A Paris dispatch reports 60 to 80 French Union wounded from Dien Bien Phu are expected to arrive in Hanoi today. Evacuation relies on helicopters as the airstrip remains unusable for heavier planes.
