Winston Services Held for Mrs. W. C. Winston

Funeral services were held for Mrs. W. C. Winston in Roswell after her death in El Paso on Tuesday. Rev. T. W. Brabham led the service at Ballard Chapel with songs by Mrs. H. P. Saunders Jr. Casket bearers included Ross L. Malone Jr. and Colonel H. P. Saunders Jr. Survived by husband Judge W. C. Winston six children and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment followed at South Park Cemetery.

16 year old Faye McClung dies after short illness

Miss Faye Marie McClung aged 16 died last night at 10 30 after a brief illness. Born in Lubbock Texas April 13 1925 she moved to Roswell last January and attended local schools. Guilty Pleas Entered In District Court Here Today

Remedios Valdez was sentenced to 45 days in county jail after pleading guilty to assault with a deadly weapon for striking Josephine Saiz with a kerosene lamp during a home argument. Aubrey Thompson pleaded guilty to forgery with sentence deferred. Ed L. Thomas, returned from Las Vegas on a bag check charge, also pleaded guilty with sentence deferred.

Fire department responded to smoke from burning trash behind Lannom's Service Station at 6th and Main. Firemen arrived to find fumes fueling a small fire, which was extinguished with no damage reported.

Roswell Join Effort For Army Recreation Plan

Roswell leaders were asked to meet at the Chamber of Commerce next Tuesday at 7 30 PM to discuss a nationwide recreation and religious program near army and navy camps and defense centers. Hereford Breeders To Meet Tomorrow

Mrs Colburn Dies At Mayhill New Mexico

Mrs Jeliette Melissa Colburn aged seventy one passed away at the family home in Mayhill New Mexico after months of ill health. She was born in Alameda Michigan September 18 1869 and is survived by four daughters and six sons with a brother. Funeral services were held at Mayhill and interment followed in Mayhill cemetery.
