Funds for U S 70 clear committee

A $8.5 billion Federal Highway Aid Bill reported by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee includes U S 70 improvements from Tularosa to Amarillo Texas. Senator Pete Domenici said U S 70 is designated a primary road with 90 percent federal funding, up from 70 percent. The measure goes to the full Senate for action anticipated late next week.
