Sgt. Gerald Neighbors, 22, a Panhandle, Texas native, recounts the 40 days of hunger and freezing carried out by Chinese guards in North Korea. Captured December 5, 1950, he survived the march after exposure to dysentery and frostbite with only one daily meal. He is back in Hereford with wife Shirley and daughter Cindy, born while he was overseas.
