Town Boys Triumph in Mud After Wet Thursday Game

Town boys edged their muddy field in a sloppy Thursday afternoon win while El Paso dropped the contest.

Slow El Paso Roswell game drags on in mud

El Paso's White 30x lost 12 to 7 at Roswell in a soggy sunken field. Sloppy play produced nineteen errors as Barr and Rokahr split pitching duties. Reeves held Roswell to four hits while El Paso's Hornbrook and St. John contributed but mud hampered both sides. Time of game 1 hr 50 min with many fans leaving early.

Two Arrested for Murder in Chama Case

Chama New Mexico on May 9 Henry Romero and Trinidad Olguin were jailed after a Sunday murder in which Gabrael Archuleta was beaten to death with a rock. Authorities suspect robbery as the motive and Romero and Olguin had a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Gusher Opens New Oil Source for Central

A new gusher in the Ebeno oil field of Mexican Petroleum Co. delivers 1800 barrels daily. The Central line uses 4000 barrels daily, at about $1.10 per barrel, totaling $4,400 per day. I J Ballard arrived in Lake Arthur after a two day stay and complains the local board of health quarantined his family for scarlet fever and no physician visited after the officer's visit. A Roswell doctor examined them and reported none had scarlet fever.

The F. M. Jones ranch excavations suggest pueblo dwellings existed in prehistoric times along the western bank of the San ta Fe River from the city boundaries to Auga Fria.

Ancient Ruins Near Santa Fe Draw Local Interest

Two prehistoric pueblos lie within easy walking distance of Santa Fe. The Arroyo Hondo ruin sits five miles south on a high bluff, partly excavated, while another large pueblo is four miles south along the Santa Fe River near Agua Fria. Pottery fragments of corrugated, black and white, glazed, and red varieties are found at both sites.
