William B. Barnhill of Mesa Arizona died May 1 2002 age 79 after a full life. He served in the 66th Infantry Division nicknamed the Black Panther and fought at Omaha Beach and in the Battle of the Bulge. He earned geology degrees from Texas School of Mines and University of Texas, founded Tierra Oil, and retired to travel with his wife. A memorial service is set May 6 at Grace Community Church. He is survived by his wife Catharine and family. Cremation private with ashes to be interred at Fort Stanton NM National Cemetery.
