Alva Oklahoma defeats Roswell 8 to 4 at Amusement Park with McGill earning the win. The game featured eleven Roswell fumbles and seven McGill strikeouts as Alva pitchers limited the opponents to five hits. Roswell's Caldwell allowed nine hits and the locals celebrate a last game of the series that afternoon.

Friction Reported At Fort Reno Officers Return

At Fort Reno Oklahoma City May 4 none could confirm rumors of trouble between two lieutenants and the infantry battalion. A dispatch from San Antonio said Major C W Penrose and three other officers returning from the Macklin court martial were rushing home due to reported trouble. The nature of the trouble remains unknown to outsiders.

Shakespeare Club closes season with springs picnic

The Shakespeare club wrapped up its 1906 07 season with a picnic at Mrs J J Hagerman s South Spring ranch. Fifteen former members and about twenty guests attended as baskets were carried out and a dinner on the grounds sparked an evening of music by Mrs Peters Mrs Ellis Miss Costa Mrs Norvell and Mrs W A Johnson. Wreck on Santa Fe Road Injures Shriners in Arizona

A Santa Fe wreck one mile west of Joseph City Arizona injured several passengers none fatally. The baggage car trucks broke causing the crash and delaying ten sections full of Shriners to the annual conclave. In Colorado another Santa Fe derailment near La Junta injured over twenty with the engineer and fireman badly burned and possibly dying from a defective rail.

Emillio Rumored Recapture Near Lincoln

News from Lee Eddleman reports rumors that Rosario Emillio the escaped murderer was recaptured near Eagle Creek in the White Mountains and sent to Lincoln for transfer to Santa Fe on August 23. Lincoln county Sheriff Owens denies the capture, while Sheriff Ballard remains cautious. Officers say Emillio is not resourceful and may be caught in the Territory. no trace of the escaped Malfbread Negro and Mexican who fled the Lincoln jail has appeared.

Mrs Roosevelt Narrowly Escapes Yacht Accident

Lamar Colorado May 4 The jury convicts Andrew Joanson of murder in the first degree with the death penalty for killing Night Marshal Frisbie during an attempted arrest on December 26.
