Alva staged a carnival opening game against Institute, delivering a lively display as the new season started. The event highlighted local fanfare and competitive spirit in a matchup that set the tone for upcoming events.
Alva defeated the New Mexico Military Institute 19 to 5 in a one sided baseball game at Amusement Park. Quinlia pitched for Alva as the visitors hit freely and tallied multiple runs. Jaffa Miller led the cadets with six catches and the cadets showed effort despite a heavy defeat.

Riot conditions in Rawalpindi Punjab involve Hindu mobs burning two bungalows and a church looting the post office burning a garage and all cars in it destroying the power house plant and smashing European residences. Armed police eventually dispersed the rioters, linked to agitators who spurred previous Lahore unrest.

Miss Annie McCrary aged 33 died Wednesday night at 502 South Kentucky avenue from tuberculosis. She came two years ago with her mother Mrs. E. P. McCrary and won many friends. Ptomaine poisoning hastened her death. A Presbyterian Christian, her remains were shipped to Lonoke Arkansas with her mother and brother W. W. McCrary. many friends accompanied the relatives to the station.

The British steamer Westgate landed today the survivors of the tank steamer Silver Lip after an explosion of benzine aboard on May 1 in the Bay of Biscay. The blast killed the engineer and four firemen, seriously burned four others, and left 58 survivors rescued by the Westgate as flames towered high and burning oil coated the sea. Lifeboats were launched and several sailors swam to safety.
