Unexplained 18 Foot Balloon Lands in Rochester Yard
A red white and blue balloon drifted onto a Rochester suburb lawn. Miss Jean Smith read a tag stating it was fired by H. S. Truman from Independence Missouri. The balloon landed in Eugene Eisenhower's yard. he has no prominent relatives. No explanation was given.

Four Arizona Students Die in Head on Collision
Four University of Arizona students die in a head on crash two miles southeast of Eloy Arizona. Victims identified as Irvin Laverne Black Snowflake 20 Walter Van Rawson 19 Safford Helen Nickerson 19 Cananea Mexico and Stanley McRae St David. Black was driving a car with six students when it hit a Los Angeles truck driven by Robert Kludj who was uninjured. McRae died later at Pinal General Hospital. Two students were injured. Charles Caldwell 22 of Buffalo, an escapee from Grant County Jail New Mexico, is in Erie County Penitentiary after a 95 mph chase through Angola. Police verified his identity after a spelling test, while inquiries with other states proceed.
