Oil Test Near Roswell Proves Local Field Viable
The Roswell Oil Company well shot Saturday night near Roswell is expected to produce at least twenty five barrels of fuel oil per day with possible gas to aid pumping. Experts peg the test as a strong indicator that capital will explore Pecos Valley oil fields. The blasting used over one hundred quarts of nitroglycerine, placed in torpedoes and lowered into the 1800 foot well. A huge water column and deafening detonation followed the timed fuse.
