Mayor L C Stiles issues a gag order barring all City Hall employees from answering Roswell Daily Record questions. He states the order applies only to the Daily Record, not other media, and that reporters must submit questions in writing to him, with only he authorized to respond in writing. Hal Simmons, attorney for the New Authority, comments.
In Las Vegas district court, attorneys sought to quash a New Mexico grand jury subpoena and bar media access.
