Ridgaway seeks county commissioner seat in District 2

He will face Roswell Realtor Jim Marks and rancher J R Jones in the June 3 primary, challenging Republican incumbent Sam A. Moorhead. Ridgaway cites over six million dollars in county expenditures and urges focus on sheriff’s office funding and a businesslike approach. He resides with his wife Mona and five children north of Roswell.

William P. Saunders, North American rep for the Australian Wool Corp, visits Roswell to explain objective measuring in wool processing. Siege ends as IRA hostager McGinn surrendered in Dundalk

A 23 year old Bernard McGinn surrendered to police ending a 24 hour siege during which he threatened to blow up his three hostages with a hand grenade. He released two hostages after talks with two Roman Catholic priests. Police then entered the house and took him away. Gerald Ford said he would assume responsibility and be available for the Republican nomination if the GOP convention is deadlocked. CCAC plans energy seminar on gasohol wind and methane

The Chaves County Agricultural Council focused a meeting on plans for a seminar about gasohol wind and methane energy.
