Tokyo AP reports the United States offered medical aid to 23 Japanese fishermen burned and blistered by ashes from a supersecret U S test. The incident centers on a March first event and involves U S actions toward victims.
U S Ambassador John Allison proposed a joint Japanese American inquiry into the March 1 Bikini Eniwetok test region explosion. 23 crewmen aboard a boat were injured with one in dangerous condition upon arrival, three more moved to serious, all expected to survive. Doctors from the atomic casualty commission in Hiroshima will treat the victims. Japanese officials plan to seek compensation and US officials note uncertainty over whether fishermen were spying. Separate county case: Carl Lee Nelson and Charles Gibson, both 19, pled guilty to kidnapping and rape after a 1940 Studebaker scene near Lake Arthur.

In Spring City Pennsylvania police say 21 year old Phyllis Seeley beat her 9 month old daughter to death after claiming she was angry at the child. Detectives say the infant had head injuries from a hammer and a necktie was found around the neck. A second daughter, about two, was unharmed in the trailer where the incident occurred.
Daniel L Hannifin and Joyce Hannifin sue B M Keohane administrator for John Henry Sanders deceased seeking 67120 in damages for a December 26 wreck at the intersection of U S 285 and New Mexico 20 thirty miles north of Roswell. Sanders 43 of Shiprock died from injuries. The husband, UNM student, claims loss of a year of schooling permanent disability and medical costs totaling 4930 with future expenses 2000. His Oldsmobile 98 destroyed and clothing damaged valued 2170. The couple seeks 56170 on first count and the wife seeks 10850 for pain and permanent injuries plus past and future medical costs.
Lembke Clough & King won a contract to build the 250 room Western Skies Hotel at Tijeras Canyon in Albuquerque. The deal amount was undisclosed and was signed yesterday by Dr. L G Rice Jr president of the New Mexico Life Insurance Co which will own the hotel.
Don Johnson of Silver City is elected president of the Photographers Association of New Mexico at the third annual meeting. Also chosen were Mark Beavers of Belen as vice president Dan Sheehan of Raton as secretary treasurer and O R Gable of Artesia as director.

John M Kelly Roswell offered 257.50 per acre for 40 acres near Eunice. Ray Meece Clothlin Albuquerque paid 7.29 an acre for 240 acres near Chaco Canyon.
