New Mexico Tax Breaks Face Harsh View From NMTRI
A New Mexico Tax Research Institute study says recent tax breaks lower the state’s manufacturing taxes but may erode the tax base. Rib fractures heal with time and controlled pain relief
A patient asks about easing rib fracture pain. The doctor explains ribs move with breathing, healing occurs as surrounding structures stabilize the break, and pain can be managed with acetaminophen or NSAIDs. More severe pain may need prescription meds, and doctors should check for complications like pneumothorax or bleeding. Coughing can cause rib breaks, so seek cancer screening if fractures recur.
