Washington March 14 The Arizona and New Mexico statehood bill was reported to the Senate today from the Committee on Territory Senator Beveridge said it was an entire substitute for the House measure.
F Forsgard traveling representative of the Winchester Arms Co. posted the best score at the Roswell Gun Club Saturday, breaking 47 of 100 blue rocks and 17 of 24 on bbles as official afternoon scores were recorded.
Adjutant General Brookes announced annual inspections by a U S Army officer. List shows dates and times for numerous units from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, including Company F in Santa Fe March 31 and Battery A in Roswell April 9.
Julesburg Colorado reports a major dam failure at the Julesburg Irrigation District reservoir flooding two miles of Union Pacific tracks. The incident causes about 150000 dollars in damage to the line. A Chicago to Denver limited train escaped harm as waters spread wide though no lives were reported lost.

Boise March 14. An entire Thorn family William, wife and two grown daughters were burned to death in a fire that razed their farm home six miles west of Twin Falls. Authorities believe a robbery prompted the blaze and two men were seen riding nearby before discovery. Thorn was noted as a man of considerable means.
March 14 in Kansas City Missouri an unknown Black assailant entered the grocery run by white owner Mrs Mary Albert on the outskirts and slashed her throat with a razor before stealing several hundred dollars and fleeing. Mrs Albert died from her injuries.

Pecos Texas March 11 The town of Saragosa in the Toyah Valley twenty miles south of Pecos is being moved to a new townsite one and one half miles distant. The Pecos Valley Southern Railway crossing at Toyah Creek at Old Saragosa was found too flat and low causing the line to deflect to the new alignment.

El Paso March 14 Charles A Rebstock an American railroad man was sentenced to nine years in the prison at San Ygnacio Sinaloa Mexico for manslaughter He fired a revolver into a crowd killing one native and wounding another He was held in jail over a year before trial.
At a City Council meeting the Chamber of Commerce and citizens voted to recruit volunteers, one per city block, to census El Paso ahead of the government count. Each enumerator will swear an affidavit, aiming to ensure accuracy and act as a check on the official census.
A noon fire in Clovis destroyed a small frame photograph gallery on West Grand Avenue and damaged two adjacent stores. The Clo vis News weekly offices suffered a total loss with about ten thousand dollars claimed and small insurance. Two brick buildings will replace the burned structures.
