Balloon release travels 925 miles to Minnesota
About 38 helium filled balloons were released at John Marshall School in Albuquerque at 1 30 p m last Thursday. One balloon drifted to Marshall Minnesota where Albert Gesquire found it on his farm barbed wire fence after about 20 hours and roughly 925 air miles traveled.

Roswell man killed while working on gas valve near Hagerman
A 36 year old Roswell man Donald L. Pruitt was killed Tuesday morning while changing a cap on a four inch gas valve for Transwestern Pipeline Co seven and one half miles east of Hagerman on NM 31 in Chaves County. The blast sent vapors high into the air and caused fatal brain injuries. Pruitt had worked for Transwestern six years.

Electrocution at Mission After Kite Rescue
