The Roswell Fire Department hosts a walk in rabies clinic Sunday from 1 to 4 PM at all town fire stations except the base. Vaccinations are offered at a reduced rate and Animal Services will issue dog and cat licenses onsite.
Sheree Lynch the Mrs New Mexico Pageant state director invites applicants for Mrs Roswell with a June 29 pageant at the Kimo Theatre Albuquerque. The winner advances to Mrs New Mexico and a prize package over 8000 dollars including a trip to Mrs America Pageant. Applicants must be 18 plus and married. The Pecos Valley Duplicate Bridge Club lists weekly winners for mid January 2026. Rose Caldwell and Claribel Marshall led the field, with Vickie Thomas and Mary Ann Bosch second, Bradford Pretti and Elaine Hanson third. Roswell and Ruidoso leaders Ron Wiser and David Hein along with Jack Shuster receive the Silver Beaver award at the Conquistador Council annual recognition banquet. The honor, first given in 1931, recognizes distinguished service to youth through Scouting in southeastern New Mexico.
Cancer Services of New Mexico invites NM adults with cancer and their families to a free three day retreat May 3 to 5 at the Marriott Pyramid North Albuquerque. More than 300 participants from over 125 families expected, featuring workshops on treatment advances coping with side effects and caregiver support. New Mexico Military Institute cadets host the seventh Cancer Awareness March to support Roswell area cancer efforts. The event opens at 2 p.m. with a memory ceremony and runs 1.1 miles on the NMMI campus multiple times until 11:30 p.m. Donations support the Chaves County Cancer Society.
