Elks Lounge Damaged in Roswell Club Fire
Fire at the Roswell Elks Club on Richardson and Second Streets destroyed the lounge and bar area with heavy smoke and heat. Crews from two pumpers and a snorkel fought the flames from 4:50 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. and found destroyed furniture carpet ceiling divider fixtures and shattered bar mirrors and glassware. The cause remained undetermined and smoke lingered in the foyer ballroom as charred chairs were removed.
