Mrs A R Ellett reported the marriage of son A Hugh Ellett to Miss Louie Dan Collier who wed in Michigan City on June 29. The couple, after visiting the Century of Progress Fair in Chicago, honeymoon at the La Salle Hotel. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs M E Collier, is from Roswell.

The Ladies Aid Society of Immanuel Lutheran Church met at the farm home of Mrs. Oscar Kunkel near Dexter. Rev. R A Hingst led devotionals. Plans were laid for an all day session on August 3 at Mrs H Merchant’s home to finish a quilt for the Orphans Home. A social hour followed with refreshments.

Two Damage Suits Total Ninety Thousand In NM
Two damage suits totaling seventy thousand dollars are filed in federal court in Albuquerque against Mountain States Contracting Company of Gallup over a 1932 Gallup death. Administrators Hall Sawyer and Emil Berthold allege negligence in loading a grader on a truck trailer causing the blade to protrude three feet and strike a passing auto, injuring Sawyer and Rodde fatally. An inquest was held into Domingo Lara’s death, ruled natural but without a doctor present.
